Frequently Asked Questions
Great question! You can find all of our contact information on the Contact Us page. However, we would recommend that you start by filling out and submitting the Client Contact Form found * here *.
Simply answer each of the questions you find on that form and click the “Send” button. That will get the proverbial ball rolling and ensure we get you in touch with the right SkyLand associate at the earliest possible moment. We’ll reach out to you directly via the contact information that you have provided in the form.
The sooner the better! We can start collecting the project details, planning for site surveys, and laying out the flight plan immediately following the first contact. Actual flight times vary depending on circumstances and clearances. If, for example, your project requires special flight clearances or exceptional lighting conditions, then we must wait until those prerequisites are met before we can put any of our sUAS/Drones in the air.
Our primary service area includes the Greater Puget Sound and select areas of the Pacific Northwest. Contact us if your project is outside of these areas and you would like for us to consider it, or for a referral to a partner provider.
Absolutely, yes! We are always looking for new and interesting ways to provide aerial services to our clients. If you have an idea for such a service, that you would like for us to consider, then let us know. There’s a great chance that we can help – so long as we’re safe and abiding by applicable laws and regulations.
Yes. All of our pilots engage in commercial use of sUAS/Drones and therefore must each hold a current Remote Pilot certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Transportation. Only certificates earned and issued within the United States of America are valid for commercial sUAS/Drone work performed in the US.
We strive to have all of our pilots certified under the AUVSI’s Trusted Operator Program, and require that they each certify to Level 1 in that program at the very least. If you require a pilot with this certification, or higher, then we have the pilot for you.
We are always in search of great partners and pilots alike. If you live in our coverage area and are interested in learning more about our operations and how you might be able to help, please reach out to us at info@skylandaerialservices.com and share your information with us. All inquiries will be responded to as soon as possible.
No, we do not. Until such time as reasonable and functional weather protection systems are made ubiquitous for sUAS/Drone systems we are unfortunately grounded while it’s raining and/or snowing.
Well, that depends. Each sUAS/Drone has performance specifications and limits relative to wind speed. So long as we do not exceed those limits, and the quality of the desired footage is not impacted by the current conditions, then we are good to fly.
Due to recent changes in FAA regulations regarding sUAS/Drone flight operations at night we have extended our service operations hours to include night flights throughout our service area. If your project requires night flight operations – we can fly for you.
Yes. Every commercial flight we take is liability insured for the full duration of each flight. The requisite liability coverage will be determined during the project discovery phase.
A very common question indeed! The short answer is that we will work with you and your team to determine what methods and mediums work best for you. If you have a preference then we will deliver precisely on that preference. We can manage any format and delivery system that suits your needs. We are happy to offer recommendations based on industry standard approaches, and our experience, if you prefer. In any case, you can rest assured that we have you and your projects best interests in mind. It should arrive looking its best!
It does – but not entirely. We support many clients across many industries and the imagery expectations across each of them can be complicated to share in this setting. The images that we do share in the Portfolio section of our website are absolute 100% representations of our work. Each of the images selected for this section are meant to represent the expected quality, definition, composition, as well as some of the stylistic attributes of work we often perform. We hope they serve that purpose well and encourage you to reach out to us for more information on what we do and how we do it.
